PLACE AFFECTED ORGANISATIONAL CHANGE
A Brief Explanation
Place Affected Organisational Change (PAOC) is a complex values-based approach to culture shift and sustainable wellbeing which falls at the nexus of design participation and organisational change. It encompasses Sociospacial Reciprocity theory and Place Therapy method to respectfully and ecologically stimulate stakeholder involvement in workplace values and personal-professional wellbeing.
#Place Affected Organisational Change is what makes JCA Consult fundamentally different from other organisations offering transformational change and enhanced wellbeing in the workplace.
We acknowledge workplace environment as an intrinsic player in organisational development and as a powerful employee health and wellbeing influencer and reflector. Workplace is referenced from the outset as a means of involving and engaging staff in proposed or ongoing change to their organisation.
Place Affected Organisational Change, Sociospacial Reciprocity theory and Place Therapy process are based on the unique work of JCA's director, Dr Jane Anderson.

SOCIOSPACIAL RECIPROCITY
A Brief Explanation
Sociospacial Reciprocity theory proposes the concept of continual interaction and mutuality between people and their embodied spaces (places). It suggests a people-place reality where it is impossible not to be in a place without continuously being affected by it and simultaneously, affecting it.
This symbiotic relationship effectively means that humankind is impacting and imprinting Place simply by the apparent fact of our existence but also that it is impossible for humankind not to always be under the influence and direction of our immediate microsettings and wider spaces.
Sociospacial Reciprocity theory continues to look at how we can take more ownership in determining these omnipresent placial influences by becoming more place-mindful and proactive in our dealing with place.

PLACE THERAPY
A Brief Explanation
Place Therapy method is the practical processual application of Sociospacial Reciprocity theory. It is a collective, inclusive means of deconstructing and mitigating and/or enhancing embodied spaces (places) to create bespoke solutions to an individual's or organisation's ongoing needs.
Place Therapy method can help organisations create beneficial culture shift by authentically involving employees in the transformational process to create a workplace that reflects and motivates, and inspires them.
Place Therapy method is also effective in homes, social and learning places and even that little office on the driveway - your car! Anywhere, in fact, people occupy.
Place Therapy method and Sociospacial Reciprocity theory together inform the Place Affected Organisational Change (POAC) approach.
